The age of Nalvadi witnessed momentous changes all over the world. At the State level, breath-taking modernization and industrialization changed the very picture of the State. Economic development, social change, constitutional reforms, national awakening and intellectual favor brought about a renaissance in the thinking process of the people. Three brilliant brains were at the back of this change. One was of Maharaja himself and the other two were of Sir M.V and Sir Mirza. Kind and compassionate, wise and witty, just and generous, His Highness possessed rare insight into men and affairs. At the national level, the struggle for freedom was reaching its peak when the colonials were on the verge of total elimination from the land. A new concept of non-violent action(ahimsa) was injected into body-politic which offered an unique technique of resisting brutal force through moral force. At the international level, two titanic world wars caused havoc with unimaginable loss of life and property.
